Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to try a free class?
Yes, we actually recommend that a new member take a free 20 minute trial class in Kung Fu or Tai Chi to meet the teachers, see the school and experience our training.
About Kung Fu
Tuesdays and Thursdays are weapon class days! In May we will start teaching SINGLE DAGGER on Tuesdays and DOUBLE SHORT STICKS vs LONG POLE on Thursdays. Double short sticks are very practical for self defense and long pole is excellent in building strength in the wrist, fingers and forearms. Any student that has finished DOUBLE SHORT STICKS is invited to attend either Tuesday, Thursday or both.
About Tai Chi
Every year we are fortunate that our April Tai Chi sash ranking falls on WORLD TAI CHI DAY! This is the one day a year that everyone does Tai Chi together across the world on Saturday morning.
In April we started the Yang style Tai Chi fan and the students were able to learn the first seven postures:
  1. Salute
  2. Flying Diagonal
  3. White Crane Spreads Wings
  4. Striking the Bee's Nest
  5. Turn the Body and Dive into the Sea
  6. Rooster Stands on One Leg
  7. Thunder Strikes the Mountain
We will continue in May with the next few postures.

A special Thank You goes out to Rob, one of our advanced Tai Chi students, for gifting Sigung and Sifu Sara passes to see the Lantern Asia display at the Botanical Gardens in Norfolk.
